A Story of Rescue
The Church That Almost Disappeared
In the hills above Dilijan, a 300-year-old stone church had stood silent for decades. Its roof had partially collapsed. Rainfall was eroding the medieval carvings. The local municipality had no funds, and each winter brought it closer to irreversible ruin.
Golden Roots stepped in with a team of local master stonemasons. Over eight months, the roof was rebuilt using traditional techniques, the carved stonework was stabilised, and the building was made structurally sound — preserving not just a building, but a community's connection to its past.
