Helping Armenia’s next generation take the court
Two proposed pathways bring young Armenian players closer to their potential: regional development for U14 girls, and overseas basketball camp scholarships for boys and girls under 15.
Six-month proposed budget
AMD 9,215,000
The programme aims to bring together promising girls from across Armenia, including Gyumri, Vanadzor and Artik. Shared coaching, regional transport, equipment and individual training would help build skills and a consistent development pathway towards the Armenia U16 national team in 2028. Selection for a national team is not guaranteed.
The proposal also includes a five-day, four-night visit to Tbilisi for international friendly games, with 15 players. Dates, hosts and travel arrangements remain to be confirmed.
Annual proposed budget
US$20,000
The Yerevan City Basketball Federation proposes up to four scholarships each year for the season’s top-performing boys and girls under 15. Approximately ten-day camps in the United States would offer training and exposure to a wider basketball environment, with an opportunity to attend an NBA or WNBA game.
Estimated cost: US$4,500–5,000 per player, depending on airfare and interview-related fees. The US$20,000 annual budget is separate from the six-month girls’ programme. Specific camps, coaching arrangements, travel permissions and places must be confirmed.
The supplied budget uses 30 uniforms × AMD 10,000 = AMD 300,000. It assumes 30 group sessions over six months; the Sunday timetable and final costs need confirmation.
Golden Roots is seeking support for these proposals. Delivery and any awards depend on partner checks, safeguarding arrangements, an agreed budget, available funding and Foundation approval. No scholarships or funded places are announced here.
General Fund donations are unrestricted. The Board and Director allocate these funds among the Foundation’s charitable projects according to priorities and need.
